December 31, 2018
January 2, 2019, really, but I'm just now sitting down to some quiet time in the writing shack for the end of December things.
Christmas feels like it came and went in a sort of blinding rush, and I have a plan for creating a Christmas Time Budget for 2019 so that I can slow down and enjoy things a little bit more. But, I did enjoy them.
Brittany and I had a good morning getting the Saran Wrap ball game ready. I really had thought about not doing it this year, but there was an awful lot of fun and laughter involved with each game, so I was glad that I had done it.
Beverly and JA were in California, but everyone else was able to be off work and to drive in from Tampa and Pensacola and Texas to be with us. So the house was abuzz with love and laughter and my family seemed to enjoy the time that spent at my house on Christmas Eve. Brittany sent me a text after she got home: "I love y'all so much! Thank y'all for everything y'all do for the family!"
Angela gave me a big hug for her ornament.
Skyler thanked me for hers and said that she really liked the card I wrote her. I wish I could remember her exact words.
John carved our turkey for us this year.
