October 26, 2018
It has been a few days, so I hope I can remember everything.

We'll start with this morning. I discovered a couple of days ago that I could send voice texts, so I sang happy birthday to Angela, and sent it. She said that her car reads her her text messages, so my song came out over all of her car's speakers. That kind of tickled me, and we got to visit for a minute, and I got to hear her laugh, and that was lots of fun.

Beverly called yesterday evening, and we got to visit for just a bit. She told me about getting to see a little girl that just made her day.

They are making great progress with Phew! We have ceilings painted and color on the walls and lights installed. There's a distinct possibility that the rooms we're working on now will at least be happily livable when the kids come home for November Second Sunday Supper.

Brittany called me while she was on her shopping trip to let me know how much fun she was having, and to thank me, and then sent me picture of the things she got. It was fun to celebrate her speaking at the conference and to get to make her so happy.

Tori and Angela called Wednesday night, after I sent them a text about being excited about progress on the house. They visited with Papa for a while and it was fun to hear him laughing with them.

He got to talk to Beverly on Monday or Tuesday night, and he said, "I'm really glad that she called."

I got to go over and spend a few hours with Morgan on Tuesday afternoon. Davis was sleeping when I got there, and I suggested that I stay with him while she went and took a walk and got some fresh air. She said she hadn't taken Mally for a walk since Davis was born, so she did that. When she came back, she said that sure was a lot easier without the baby weight. ;-)

I offered to change her sheets, and as I was looking for a fitted sheet she told me that Brandon was really impressed that she can fold a fitted sheet --- "like you taught me." She said, "Seriously. When people are over he'll say, "Come look at this!"

I had told her that I thought I'd come spend my writing time over there so a little ways into my visit, she asked me if I'd gotten to have my writing time. I'd forgotten all about it. ;-)

And then Davis and I went to sit on the front porch. I pulled the rocking chair to the center of the porch where I had a clear view, without the railing. I just sat and rocked him, and talked to him about the colors of the sky and the bay, and they were both nearly the same gray that day. I had been sort of gently massaging him for much of the time I was there, and while I talked, I kept doing so --- the tips of my fingers just gently, rhythmically stroking his chest. A butterfly flew past us, surprising me and interrupting my monologue about the shrimp boat and the gulls and the crane. Somewhere in all of that, I felt the tips of his fingers move on my hand, mimicking the motion of my hand on his. I know everyone wouldn't see it this way, but it felt like he was loving me back.

When I told Morgan, she said, "Oh, my angel was definitley giving you some loving! I'm so glad you got some one on one time with him."
