Shadow came trotting from the writing shack porch to greet me. I unlocked the front door and she waited there while I got her food ready. Since she was already there, I just made her inside dish, and she came right in and ate it. She's hanging out on the writing shack porch now. 

 Annette sent a text to check on me. 

 I was sick all day yesterday and stayed in my pj's and pitter pattered around, but I did manage to pitter patter through Tyler's old room and get it straight, and that's a relief. 

 I spent Saturday morning with Morgan in Fairhope, for a wee shopping trip. Again, better if I hadn't already started coughing and wasn't already worried about getting her sick, but still a special little break in time, and mostly I got to feel Davis move. It took my breath away. As we were saying bye, and Morgan was saying thank you, she said something like "and for coming over here. I can't remember the last time I got to hang out with somebody without having to drive 45 minutes." I told her I'd been thinking about that, and that as time rocked along, I did think I would do some of the driving, to come and see them. It is a loving thing they do .... driving over for Second Sunday Supper. 

 I wish I'd seen her Friday night post that she is relaunching Shore Things. :-)  I'm excited for her.

Long post : this quote hits me hard because when the ShoreThing revamp came to mind about a year ago and my husband asked me “well what will make this boutique different from all of the others?” The first thing that came to mind was “it will be mine.” Making big leaps of faith is SCARY - but I have missed ShoreThing so much the past few years as I was trying to build my career and I. Am. So. Happy. It’s. Back.
For those of you that have been here a while, this revamp is going to be a totally new boutique with its own cozy vibe. I WILL be offering limited slots of custom swimwear in 2019 to give ShoreThing back it’s original swag.
For those of you that are new here, I hope everything you see and purchase makes you feel like you can rule the day!
I will do my best to be as authentic as possible and bring you the best items for the best prices!

Angela and Barry went to the estate sale and spent the morning together and took the pups to Firefly. 

 Perry is going to start on our bulkhead and pier late tonight or in the morning. 

 Got some texts from Amber on Friday. She was enjoying the Chicago waterfront. 

 Got a postcard from Zak. 

 Annette said Skyler was happy this morning ---- up before her, and ready to go!

 Brittany said Jon Mark asked her when we're going to have Second Sunday Supper.

January 9 Well, we won the National Championship. In the three years that I have actually be watching football, we've come close, but never gotten it, at least I don't think so. Anyway, last night's game was stressful, but we came away with the prize, so that was good. February 10, 2018 My favorite hotdogs, on buns warmed in the toaster with just the right amount of ketchup, mustard and pickle, the hotdogs grilled in the small skillet with cheese melted over them at the very last. Perfectly delicious. Followed by Breyer's vanilla ice cream topped with Coops hot fudge sauce. A favorite meal. All by my quiet, unobserved self. And when I got the date and time set up on my elliptical, and my user profile set up, and got my iPod hooked up to it so that it will stay charged up it made my heart race. I'm so excited!!!

January 8 Second Sunday Supper was joyous last night. Andrew seemed relaxed and started off sitting by Barry and talking about pickups and I heard him say, "I'm not sure I made the right decision," in son-asking-father tone. And then John came in and the three of them discussed the comparative pluses and minuses of various makes and models of pickups.  Kim went straight to pet Mama Cat.  When I said that Tori and Josh were still good friends, still good to each other, had just decided that they didn't have the kind of fire that takes you through all of life's troubles, I ended up looking at Kim, who was nodding as in how important that is, and I remember her saying about meeting John, "It isn't like I didn't know right when I met him that he was the one."
