Andrew called after he got off work yesterday and we got to have a little visit. He said that he was sorry he couldn't be here. He said that he might be coming home sooner than expected, because someone said something stupid on Friday, and he said something smart alecky in his reply. He said, "I'm 2000 miles away from the people who take care of my soul." He'd already talked to me about how much he misses Annette, so I knew what he was talking about. He said everybody there knows he'd rather be home. The people you would expect to be annoyed by his frankness are not, he said. Most people there are trying to climb the corporate ladder, but he is not. Most people there won't say the things that need to be said, but he will, and they are grateful. 

 Annette basically pulled Second Sunday Supper together for me. I couldn't even think of what to serve. She suggested party food, and so that's what we did. John and Kim stopped by and picked up the Zakby's for me and Barry took care of the ComPac pizza. I made chocolate chip cookies. Annette made meatballs and spinach dip and chicken log and got the crackers and rolls. She got everything set up, and with Brittany and Skyler got all the decorations hung up and ready for celebration. 

 Annette was so tickled with her "Faith" bracelet. She told me how excited she was about it, how she'd been looking for one and couldn't find one. 

 Beverly sent me a sweet text, which I have forwarded to my email, and called me after she got off work. She said that she misses everything about me. 

 JA sent me a text, and then called me.

 Angela and Kennedy came over for Second Sunday Supper / Mother's Day, and Tori sent me a sweet text, which I have forwarded to my email. 

 Beth and Rodney, his mother, and Morgan and Zak were here. When Beth handed my present she said, "Can you have yours now? Because you're the --- and I can't remember her exact words but it was something about how important I am. She said I am the best mom ever. Vivian sent me a sweet text, also forwarded to my gmail.

 John and Kim and Noah were here. They gave me a card and are going to take Barry and I to dinner. Kim sent me a Facebook chat message that I've included here. I could tell by the look on her face that she was happy with her present, and that made me happy. 

 Chris, Erin, Shawn, Tyler and Wylder were here. Shawn walked in holding an orchid, and after they left I discovered a card they'd gotten for me. Wylder was passed around and got lots of loving.

 Evan and Chelsea came with Jaden. It was fun to watch Evan playing basketball with Zak and Tyler. Evan looked happy, playing basketball.

 Faith was at work, but Michael and Daniel were here, and helped me set things up.

hanks so much for the cookbook and the money that I am going to put toward my new pot and pan set
I have plans to make a couple of the recipes out of the book tomorrow. will let you know how they turn out

January 9 Well, we won the National Championship. In the three years that I have actually be watching football, we've come close, but never gotten it, at least I don't think so. Anyway, last night's game was stressful, but we came away with the prize, so that was good. Beth and Beverly and Morgan and I watched together in the sense that we were posting about what was going on at our house, so that was kind of fun. February 10, 2018 My favorite hotdogs, on buns warmed in the toaster with just the right amount of ketchup, mustard and pickle, the hotdogs grilled in the small skillet with cheese melted over them at the very last. Perfectly delicious. Followed by Breyer's vanilla ice cream topped with Coops hot fudge sauce. A favorite meal. All by my quiet, unobserved self. And when I got the date and time set up on my elliptical, and my user profile set up, and got my iPod hooked up to it so that it will stay charged up it made my heart race. I'm so excited!!!

January 8 Second Sunday Supper was joyous last night. Andrew seemed relaxed and started off sitting by Barry and talking about pickups and I heard him say, "I'm not sure I made the right decision," in son-asking-father tone. And then John came in and the three of them discussed the comparative pluses and minuses of various makes and models of pickups.  Kim went straight to pet Mama Cat.  When I said that Tori and Josh were still good friends, still good to each other, had just decided that they didn't have the kind of fire that takes you through all of life's troubles, I ended up looking at Kim, who was nodding as in how important that is, and I remember her saying about meeting John, "It isn't like I didn't know right when I met him that he was the one."
