April 26, 2018 I got to talk to Beverly last night. She and JA are going to try to come home around Mother's Day.  Angela came over last night, per Beverly's directions, so that Papa could check her finger and see if it needed lancing. Lots of laughter. An eventual pin prick. Barry and I got a late invite to judge in Florence this Saturday, so we're going to drive up there. It will be our first BBQ adventure. Chris had some interesting tools in his belt and so he told me about them --- three different glass cutting tools for doing particular things. He's been working on some pretty mirrors.  Shawn said he'd be at Goodtimes: "I promise, Granny."  Got to text Tori a little bit. She said it is just too fun that we get to officially name the bay property.  I got to talk to Daddy and ask him about the pelicans.  I have known for a while that Daddy especially liked pelicans, but until a recent trip home, I had not known why. Nana brought it ...

October 3, 2018 I'm so excited about it being writing shack day, I can hardly contain myself! Excited because I've managed to cross a lot of things that were bothering me and so all of my other little areas feel well taken care of, and I can just rejoice in this day.  Elaine and I had lunch together yesterday, and about half way through she said that she'd seen my letter in Lagniappe, and that it was really good, and really well written. The non-verbals that accompanied her words made me feel like she and I are in agreement, and that was very comforting. I stopped by Zak and Vivian's and visited Vivian and Beth and Linda and Morgan for a little bit, since they were there having lunch together. I got to talk to Daddy and Kathi yesterday. The second thing she said to me was, "I'm just wondering when we're going to have a great, great-grandbaby!" Daddy said that thinking about it had made him wonder how his great, great-grandfather looked. I coul...

September 6, 2018 Barry and I left out on a road trip two weeks ago and just got back Tuesday night. I spent Wednesday still off-schedule. Lots of fun on the trip, and those notes are piling up in our BBQ journal.  Daddy called me yesterday. He said my youngest was turning 40, but that since Valerie and Kelly were younger, not all of his grandchildren were 40 yet. He laughed a lot when I told about the town of Peculiar, and how it got its name.

October 29, 2018 So on Friday, I just cut loose and gave myself the day in the writing shack. I wrote thank you notes for my birthday presents. I wrote letters to Beverly, Daddy, and Marianne Hudgins and mailed them the Kennedy brochure that I'd promised. I wrote the joy journal pages for Morgan that I'd promised her and put them in a Welcome Baby greeting card that she can save.  Barry and I went down to Firefly Saturday morning. He didn't have anyone working Saturday, so we didn't have to hurry. The beach is still wide and sandy and pretty.  I came home and did my Saturday chores, which went along without much of a hitch, and then drove across the bay to visit with Beth. Morgan and Davis were sleeping, but Brandon came in mid-way and then his brother Zach, and we all just visited and had a good time. Then Morgan and Davis were up, and after he'd eaten she brought him out, and when I stood behind her and talked to him, I think I saw a flicker of recognition ...
